- Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer will play an important role in the future success of BEP transforming into a world class injection molding facility. This role is responsible to lead and complete projects which support business objectives in the areas of injection molding, continuous improvement, automation, waste elimination, assembly, robotics, and various other areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & CAPABILITIES:
- Takes coordinated direction from Director of Engineering & Innovation, Operations Manager and VP of Operations to complete projects that meet the needs of strategic objectives.
- Support the day to day operations of BEP through problem solving, mentoring, training, and coaching technical staff to become self-sufficient and grow within their respective areas.
- Models, identifies and addresses production bottlenecks by partnering with the operations team to ensure production will continue to meet ever-growing customer demand.
- Communicates with vendors to determine product specifications and works with BEP Supply Chain Team to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including, asset utilization, OEE or efficiency, remaining useful life and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets.
- Communicates with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate the production processes.
- As a high functioning individual contributor, serves the role of coach and mentor for the technical team. May be asked to support creation and development of training when required or requested.
- Designs and develops reliable automated and semi-automated equipment throughout the facility.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.

- Ability to interpret the company strategy and deliver clear KPI’s across functional departments so that all team members are working towards a common goal, without duplicating work.
- Provide technical and engineering support for efficient troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
- Demonstrated maturity in communication and presentation skills.
- Ensure the most effective technology and best engineering practices are used injection molding and assembly processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degrees – Bachelor of Science degree in Plastics, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
- Work experience – 2+ years of experience with Injection Molding Tooling and Machine Maintenance, leading other technical team members. Program Management and Product Design experience is preferred.
- Other Skills – Injection molding, assembly, robotics, automation experience required.

The Launch Quality Engineer position is responsible for the development and submission of quality documentation to the customer, facilitation of continuous improvements, and working with the suppliers and customers to resolve quality or system issues.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Personal Traits:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.
- Previous experience in the automotive industry
- Ability to understand prints/drawings, including proficiency in GD&T
- Program management background a plus
- Customer specific program development experience (AIAG, APQP, PPAP, Process Flow & Control Plans)
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and the ability to learn computer based support systems.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
- Work safely and actively support our facility through participation in safety audits, hazard identification and resolution, safety initiatives/teams and living the critical ten safety rules and three safety obligations.
- Interface with customer personnel and facilitate the resolution of quality issues and concerns.
- Maintain quality documentation in response to CARS/SCARS as required.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of institutionalized quality systems (e.g. ISO)
- Responsible for the quality of product during the Launch Phase
- Initiate Control Plans and training for work and gage instructions. Maintain Control Plans, work and gage instructions.
- Generate quality documentation in accordance with customer requirements for PPAP submission
- Understand and provide interpretation of customer designs
- Recommend and negotiate GSD&T with the customer. Understand and provide interpretation of GD&T data.
- Responsible for gage quoting, sourcing, design approval, and customer approval
- Coordinate dimensional layout and capability studies using appropriate forms as needed. Assess results and provide appropriate recommendations as requested.
- Manage supplier communications and requirements (PPAP/Annual validation) relating to quality
- Submit the PPAP per the program timeline.
- Lead problem solving efforts relating to production quality issues.
- Initiate NCMs as needed
- Gage R&R studies for After Production Engineering Changes
- Coordinate Annual Validation activities per customer requirements.
- Leverage continuous improvement tools (LEAN and Six Sigma) as necessary to eliminate waste.
- Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as assigned by their supervisor
